Travelling for pleasure is enjoyable. You will feel at ease and will undoubtedly appreciate beautiful sights, as well as experiences such as food culture. When visiting a place, it is best to do and eat as the locals do. This article will provide a list of places to visit while on the Gold Coast.
Gold Coast Local Dining
The Gold Coast is, as the name suggests, a stunningly beautiful region. The city has beautiful natural surroundings and family-friendly attractions, making vacations enjoyable for the entire family. However, if you want to explore the city’s culinary scene, one of its suburbs can provide the best experience, complete with a breathtaking beachfront view.
Broadbeach Dining Destinations
To locals, Broadbeach or “Broadie” is a precinct full of gourmet delis, cafes and restaurants with alfresco dining and beautiful beach views.
The award-winning Social Eating House and Bar owner, Executive Chef Matthew Jefferson, has always wanted to open an Italian restaurant. ORZO was born after much thought and planning, and it opened its doors on December 27th, 2019, in Broadbeach.
ORZO is a contemporary coastal restaurant that serves traditional Italian cuisine with a modern edge. As a result, expect high-quality Italian flavours with a hint of Australia. For example, they provide nourishing pasta made in-house daily, and they only use premium ’00’ flour imported from Italy. ORZO also has a curated list of wines, spirits, beers, and cocktails created by their team of top mixologists and bartenders. Each will complement your meal.
Aside from delicious food, ORZO’s dining scene is something you should see and experience. At ORZO’s, no detail is too small, as the restaurant’s design was meticulously curated. The textures, curves, arches and pastel colours make you feel as if you’re in the Mediterranean.
Are you prepared to enter the ORZO’s? They are at 1N-02, The Oracle, 12 Charles Avenue Broadbeach QLD 4218.
Social Eating House and Bar
You should also visit Executive Chef Matthew Jefferson’s Social Eating House and Bar if you’re going to ORZO. Social Eating House and Bar have won the People’s Choice ‘Chef of the Year’ Award for three years. Chef Matthew’s casual fine dining restaurant and bar features an extensive international tapas/shared plate menu. When it comes to service, the Social Eating House and Bar team will make you feel at ease and will walk you through their international wine list, food menu, and any general inquiries. So please don’t be shy to ask for their recommendations. Also, Social has very talented bartenders who create a wide range of different style cocktails to suit your taste. They are at Shop 137/3 Oracle Bvd, Broadbeach QLD 4218.
Hideaway Kitchen & Bar
Hideaway Kitchen & Bar is tucked away but visible on the outskirts of Broadbeach. How does that work? So, instead of stools, the restaurant has bar swings. Graffiti-covered walls and a hanging umbrella installation are also on display. It’s a vibrant and exciting venue where diners can get away from it all.
Hideaway Kitchen & Bar serves only the finest Asian street food and beverages. They are open every night of the week and serve weekend lunches. However, due to the Covid-19 restrictions, Hideaway Kitchen & Bar had to change the venue capacity. The restaurant accepts walk-ins, but reservations are strongly advised.
If you happen to be in the area this December, Hideaway Kitchen & Bar hosts a special event called the 2022 New Years Eve Great Gatsby Celebration. First seating is available from 5 PM to 7:30 PM, with a full a la carte menu. The second seating, which is a ticketed event, runs from 8 PM to 12:30 PM. Tickets are $99 per person, but if you book early, you can get them for $89. You’ll get a drink on arrival, an Asian street feast, and live music starting at 8 PM.
Hideaway Kitchen & Bar is at 2657 Gold Coast Highway Broadbeach, QLD 4218.
Do you want to try out some alfresco dining in Broadbeach? Koi Broadbeach by the Gennari Group is a local and tourist favourite. In March 2020, the multi-award-winning restaurant was renovated. You’ll love their new sleek design, which exudes a coastal vibe with a mix of wood, stone, marble, copper, and cane textures. With the back wall removed to reveal an open kitchen, the space has nearly doubled in size.
In addition, Koi Broadbeach’s food will not disappoint. Their menu is constantly evolving to ensure that everyone enjoys their lunch, dinner, and wine menus. Koi Broadbeach also serves tapas and cocktails until late. If you visit them before the end of 2021, why not attend their Koi New Year’s Eve Party 2022?
