2022 Pan Pacific Masters Games
Were you looking forward to the much-anticipated 2021 Pan Pacific Masters Games? You might have heard of the sporting event’s cancellations due to lockdowns, travel restrictions, health regulations, and COVID-19 uncertainty. Don’t miss the Masters Games’ return to the Gold Coast this year!
The 12th Pan Pacific Masters Games will occur from November 4 to 13. They will feature 40 individual and team sports and live entertainment in a purpose-built and exclusive Pan Pacific Masters Games Village alongside the beach at Kurrawa Park.
The games will be at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre, Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre, Coomera Indoor Sports Centre, and Gold Coast Hockey Centre, all used during the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. You can also enjoy the beauty and sunshine at some of the Gold Coast’s pristine waterways and beaches, which will host a variety of water sports.
Guns N’ Roses
Guns N’ Roses, a Los Angeles-based American hard rock band, will perform at Metricon Stadium, just a short 15 minute drive from Victoria Square Apartments, on November 24. Catch vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, and bassist Duff McKagan at one of the year’s most significant stadium rock nights, which has just gotten bigger. Guns N’ Roses have announced that two of the country’s most exciting bands, The Chats and Cosmic Psychos, will join them on their 2022 Australian stadium tour.
The Chats are an Australian punk rock band from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, formed in 2016. They define their music as “shed rock.” Meanwhile, Cosmic Psychos are an Australian punk rock band that began as Spring Plains in 1982. Ian McFarlane, an Australian rock music historian, described their sound as an “arty kind of punk noise, somewhere between The Birthday Party and a more narcotic sounding Ramones.” The band was renamed Cosmic Psychos in late 1984.
Miami Marketta Night Market + Live Music
Every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 5 p.m., the Miami Marketta night market is open to the public. 15 Marketta food vendors offer seasonal dishes. There’s something for everyone, whether you want Japanese street food, Thai food or French dessert. In addition, Miami Marketta hosts free live music on the Cargo Stage three times a week, showcasing Gold Coast talent. But wait, there’s more!
Vera Blue will be performing at Miami Marketta – Laneway on November 3 as part of her 2022 Australian tour in celebration of the release of her new album ‘MERCURIAL’ on October 28. She describes the album as “colourful, emotional, personal, chaotic, passionate, transformative, and beautiful,” and “Mercurial” above all.
One of Australia’s most accomplished singer/songwriters is also embarking on an Australian tour. Dean Lewis, the multi-award-winning, multi-Platinum-certified global superstar, will perform at Miami Marketta – Laneway on November 10.
